ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. Acupuncture is a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as qi or chi (CHEE) — that flows through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncturist help re-balance your body’s energy flow.

• Acupuncture with Electrical Stimulation (E-Stim) •

E-Stim is the use of micro-electrical currents by attaching them to the inserted needles.  These currents amplify the effects of acupuncture on particular points on the body.  This is typically effective for treating pain and promoting metabolic function.

• Auricular Acupuncture •

In the same way hands and feet are micro-systems of the entire body, so are the ears.  By stimulating specific points on the auricle with acupuncture needles or ear seeds, the body receives an acupuncture treatment.

FUNCTIONAL PHYSIOLOGY

Functional Physiology & Bio-Energetic Medicine treatments help identify and eliminate roadblocks that prevent the body from healing itself.  Treatments focus on restoring communication and cooperation between the various body functions (physical and non-physical), supporting the body to work as an integrated unit instead of as individual muscles, organs and glands.

All the different body functions and systems interact and communicate with each other in a myriad of complex pathways.  These communication pathways are regulated by a person’s “biological computer” (that which controls the body’s automated functions).  If these programs run too fast, too slow or not at all, pathologies develop.  Functional Physiology & Bio-Energetic Medicine treatments can optimize the flow of energy and communication within these systems by balancing the body’s “bio-computer,” and thereby addressing the cause, not just the symptom.

Functional Physiology & Bio-Energetic Medicine treatments allow the practitioner to identify as little as a 3% - 5% malfunction(s) in the body, so that these can be corrected and prevent them from developing into serious conditions.  This holistic practice access the body's innate wisdom so that the malfunctions are addressed in the priority that will help restore optimal function in the least amount of time.

FREQUENCY SPECIFIC MICROCURRENT

Frequency-specific micro-current (FSM) therapy is an emerging technique for treating many health conditions that is pain free, drug free and offers rapid results.  Micro amperage current is the same kind of current your body produces on its own within each cell. This is current in millionths of an amp. It is very small; there is not enough current to stimulate sensory nerves so the current flow cannot be felt.

Pairs of micro-current frequencies are applied to particular places on the patient's skin using any combination of: conductive graphite gloves, moistened towels, or gel electrode patches.  Frequencies are selected based on the condition being treated; every type of tissue in the body has it's own specific frequency.  Within seconds of applying the frequencies, patients report a sensation of  elation as well as visible and palpable tissue softening and warming.  When using FSM to treat pain, it also reduce inflammation (swelling), repairs tissue, and reduces pain.

One of the ways FSM works is by increasing the production of the substance ATP in injured tissues. ATP is the major source of energy for all cellular reactions in the body. Because treatment with FSM can increase ATP production by as much as 500% in damaged tissues, this may help with the recovery process.

MICRO & NANO NEEDLING

Microneedling (aka collagen-induction therapy) naturally rejuvenates the skin without any painful surgery or injections!  It's a nonsurgical treatment that penetrates your skin's surface with tiny  needles to improve it's appearance.  It triggers a small kind of wound-healing response to create a structural and cosmetic benefit. The procedure can help smooth lines and wrinkles, evens skin tone (including stubborn melasma), refines enlarged pores, tightens skin and fades scars and stretch marks.

Unlike peels, microderm abrasion, and facials; microneedling keeps the top layer of the skin intact, protecting the deeper layers during rejuvenation. It stimulates facial rejuvenation all while protecting cell growth.

KIDS WELLNESS

Children respond easily and quickly to treatments. Interactive treatments that are fun and effective include the use of: laser acupuncture (cold laser), acupressure, aromatherapy and functional physiology, to name a few.  Plus, parents get the added benefit of learning pressure points and other techniques to help their children at home and on the go.  Kids Wellness Visits are for children up to 11 years of age.

FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE

Facial acupuncture relaxes and strengthens the muscles of the face and neck, promotes collagen production, increases circulation and elastin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.  It also firms and tones these areas and promotes detoxification giving you a clearer and glowing complexion.  This renewal or rejuvenation of skin and muscles can also help treat conditions such as: acne, rosacea, and bell's palsy, as well as correct some of the underlying imbalances that lead to these conditions.

MANUAL THERAPY

• Cupping •

Cupping is an ancient form of promoting blood and qi circulation to a specific area. The practitioner creates suction in a cup and then applies that cup to the body, which then draws the skin into the cup. This therapy is warming and causes a local increase in the flow of Qi and blood through the meridians.

• Gua Sha •

Gua Sha means to “scrape or extract sand or toxins.” Gua Sha involves scraping skin in strokes, by a round-edged instrument, which results in the appearance of small red petechiae called “sha.” The surfacing of sha is literally removing disease from deep within the system.  The redness will fade in 2 to 3 days.

• Tui Na •

Tui Na translates as “push grasp”, and is considered Chinese Medical Massage.  Tui Na is a massage technique that moves Qi in various parts of the body. It is generally used to relieve muscle pain, tension and inflammation.

• Moxibustion •

Moxibustion is a TCM therapy that incorporates Artemisia in acupuncture treatments. It may be burned on the handle of the needle, above the skin, on salt or on a slice of ginger or other herbs. This is used to “warm” acupuncture points or areas in order to accelerate the healing process.

HERBAL MEDICINE

Herbs can be a powerful addition to acupuncture or other holistic therapies. They are used to strengthen, build and support the body or to clear it of excess problems like a cold, fever or acute pain. At times, you may be instructed to take herbal medicine, supplements, change dietary habits before treating with acupuncture or other treatments. This is suggested to build up your internal strength so you can maximize benefits of subsequent treatments.

ACUPUNCTURE INJECTION THERAPY

Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT) also known as "Bio-puncture", is an integrative therapy that combines TCM with  conventional and homeopathic medicine.  AIT certified Acupuncture Physicians inject natural therapeutic substances, such as homeopathic remedies, or vitamins like B-12, in the form of sterile substances into acupuncture points to promote, restore and retain health, for pain management and palliative care, for acupuncture anesthesia and to prevent disease. It is not a substitute for traditional needle acupuncture, but rather an adjunctive treatment that may be beneficial in attaining healing for the patient.
